Today Chirp runs in a container on Niels' home server, next to the site that shows it.

-
On Azure, Chirp ran as an App Service web app. GitHub Actions built it on each push to main and deployed it there.
-
The deploy signed in to Azure with OpenID Connect, so GitHub held only IDs, no Azure password.
-
A cheep holds at most 160 characters.
-
Cheeps, users and follows live in SQLite, through Entity Framework Core. Its migrations build the database when the app starts.
-
You signed up with an email and a password, or with your GitHub account. ASP.NET Core Identity handled both.
-
Every page is rendered on the server with Razor Pages.
-
The code has three layers. Web depends on Infrastructure, Infrastructure on Domain, and Domain on none of our code.
